‘Eine kleine Nachtmusik’ and the loss of biodiversity

Pim Martens has a PhD in applied mathematics ànd biological sciences. He is professor of planetary health and dean of Maastricht University College Venlo.

Prof. Dr. Martens has been a professor of Sustainable Development for 18 years, and is currently project-leader and principal investigator of several projects related to planetary health, sustainability science and education, and human-animal-nature relationships.

 

Pim Martens is a scientivist and founder of AnimalWise, a “think and do tank” integrating scientific knowledge and animal advocacy to bring about sustainable change in our relationship with animals.

Traditional medicine and biodiversity loss

Dr. Ashley Thuthao Keng Dam is a medical anthropologist, budding ethnobotanist, and lecturer in global health within the department of Health, Ethics, and Society. Their interdisciplinary research combines food studies, anthropology, ethnobotany, and media studies to explore the interconnections and relationalities of people, plants, food, and health using creative qualitative methodologies and approaches. Thao also writes, draws, photographs and speaks about food under the name @ThaoEatWorld
