Microbes, invisible to the naked eye, are living with us side by side. Thanks to them, we have tasty food, clean water and can reclaim wasted materials. At the heart of all this is teamwork, where the microbial community’s potential is much greater than the sum of the players’ abilities.

Thanks to microbes, humans can enjoy and preserve tasty food, drink clean water and even reclaim wasted materials. Microbial communities are composed of multiple players that possess unique qualities and are at the heart of all these bioprocesses. Join our event to discover where these little but mighty microorganisms dwell, and how scientists and engineers can find peculiar micro-communities even at one's doorstep! By playing Microbe Cards games, you will learn why some microbes are living better in a dark and moist environment, while others enjoy sunbathing in scorching hot rainbow-colored ponds, which are highly deadly for humans. But despite such big differences in the preferences for living habitat, these microbes can nicely live together in man-made bioreactors, producing useful products for our lives.

A huge thank you to our Sponsors!
